GWE has been commissioned as the main contractor on this project to carry out a full Generator Controls upgrade for this confidential customer. While keeping the facility live and fully operational, GWE has installed a new generator controls COMAP system.

Our works involve the installation of a temporary LV panel and large LV cabling to temporarily support one of the power streams while it is having its controls system upgraded. There were 7 sets of generators backing up one side of the center and 6 sets of generators backing up the other side.

To achieve this, GWE installed multiple parallel feeders via new temporary panels to feed the opposite side of the center so their resilience in a mains failure occurrence while works were being carried out on the other set and then vice versa.
